The Masculinity Project: Remix: Outside Looking In 10mins
Produced by Phil Bertelsen. Remix produced & edited by Sabrina Gordon.
Filmmaker Phil Bertelsen explores his layered heritage through his own trans-racial adoption into a very diverse family. Bertelsen also appears with his young nephew, also named Phil, who is living a parallel existence in some ways and not in others. Little Phil is also an adopted son into a racially diverse family. However the search for black identity in Little Phil’s story takes a different tone. Together uncle and nephew explore the changing fault lines of black male identity which still continue to evolve.
